• You'll simply wave your Visa card in front of a secure reader with contactless symbol instead of inserting or swiping it
• No signature or PIN will be required

• Your Visa card with the Visa payWave feature will never leave you hand, so you will remain in control of the card during the entire payment process

• Visa cards with the Visa payWave feature are based on EMV chip technology, providing you with one of the most secure contactless payment technologies in the marketplace
• All Visa cards have the Visa Zero Liability policy which provides you with protection against fraud. If your Visa card is lost or stolen, you pay nothing for the fraudulent purchases.* Cardholders are responsible to ensure they protect their PIN.

*Please note that Visa cardholders must establish that the transaction is not their responsibility as per all applicable agreements of their issuing financial institution. Commercial cards excluded.

How a Visa payWave contactless transaction will work

Visa cards with the Visa payWave feature will be embedded with an antenna and a microchip. Through the antenna, the chip will communicate with a secure contactless reader at checkout.

Where you will be able to pay using the Visa payWave feature

The convenience of paying with a Visa card with the Visa payWave feature will be coming to such locations such as fast food restaurants, gas stations, movie theatres, convenience stores, news stands and video/DVD rental stores.

Is the Visa payWave payment platform secure?

The Visa payWave payment platform is based on EMV chip technology, providing you with one of the most secure contactless payment solutions available in market today. Visa payWave transactions will be processed through the same reliable Visa payment network used for all Visa card transactions. And, because you will remain in control of your card during the entire Visa payWave transaction, the risk of the card being used for fraudulent transactions will be reduced.
